After his face make-up changed dramatically in the new Punto bumper and headlights, as well as the radiator grille has changed can be seen.

Punto with a new 406 cm length 3 cm more prolonged than the former. Width and height remained the same.

Changes made in the technical sense a little more comprehensive. Now, start-stop technology used petrol and diesel engines meet the Euro5 emission oranlarınıda. A new engine line, the gasoline engine 1.4-liter has been included. Multi-called air that has a technology to the air entering the engine cylinder by controlling the amount of each cylinder individually in each cylinder to provide optimum combustion air to ensure the money is needed. This engine 10 percent less carbon dioxide than standard gasoline engine when you release the extra power produces 10-15 per cent. Fiat this technology next year, plan to apply to all engines.

Driver side air bag inserted in the knee with 7 airbags, the new Grande Punto is also used in the adaptive fog lights. This far, especially in cornering illuminate the road bends to encounter unpleasant surprises before farkedilmelerini offers.

Blue & Me - TomTom navigation system, called sir in the new Grande Punto will be available in. With this system to drive mobile phone, navigation system via touch screen may use.

The Fluence is all about space. It has 530 liters of boot space and Renault claims it has more passenger space than any major rival. Interior stats include 1,480mm of elbow room at the front, and 1,475mm at the rear. The driver’s seat can be adjusted 240mm fore/aft and 35mm +/- in height, and the steering wheel has both rake and reach adjustment. The cabin features 23 liters of storage, including a 9 liter refrigerated glovebox and a 2.2 liter centre console cubby. The 530 liter boot has a low sill and a 1,020mm wide entry for easier loading.

It’s got decent specifications too. All models including entry level ones will get rear aircond vents, and dual zone control for the front is an option. Renault has also made available a hands-free entry and ignition system using a card. As the card-holder walks away from the car, the doors will lock automatically. You’ve got up to 6 airbags, ABS, and stability control.

In the engine bay, for now diesel and petrol engines are available. All the diesel models qualify for Renault’s eco2 branding, which means CO2 emissions of 119g/km. In 2011, Renault will be introducing an all-electric Fluence, which technology most likely adapted from the Nissan Leaf EV.

The petrol engines include a 140hp 2.0 mated to either a manual or a CVT. This is likely the same engine and transmission combination available in the Sylphy. There is also a 110hp 1.6 liter engine. The eco2 Diesel engines all use the same 1.5 dCi block but with different stages of tune – 85, 90 DPF, 105, 110 DPF and another 110 DPF mated to a new twin-clutch transmission.

Those who think that their fuel tank refills will cost less by RM0.05 per liter because they’ve switched to RON95 as their regular fuel have to wipe their smile off their faces – the government has announced that RON95 will be priced at the old RON97 price of RM1.80 per liter from midnight onwards.

As for RON97, we already know that a price hike is imminent – it will be priced at RM2.05 per liter. RON92 has been phased out. No news about Shell V-Power for now, as it is it’s been removed from a significant amount of stations. They are probably still trying to figure out the sweet spot for pricing and planning the logistics for supply to stations.

This is expected really, considering crude oil per barrel closed US$72.75 a barrel on Friday, which is up 20% from around US$60 in July. There are various factors for this but the most quoted reasons are an improving global economy and a declining US dollar – the lower USD’s values are, the more USD you will have to pay per barrel.

Nissan Dualis 2WD 5dr wagon range review

Posted by Groove Sunday, August 30, 2009 0 comments

NISSAN has finally given the Dualis the break it deserves with the new and far-more cost competitive front-wheel drive models.

Marketed as a ‘Hatch Plus’, the competent European-built small-car crossover ticks every single box needed for it to become a formidable challenger against the likes of the mid-range Toyota Corolla, Mazda 3 and VW Golf.

Priced from $24,990, there is every chance that Nissan in Australia may finally see the success that the Dualis – as the Qashqai – has enjoyed overseas.

THE first affordable A-segment car – as well as the first Indian-built passenger car – has landed in Australia in the form of Suzuki’s all-new Alto hatchback.

Priced from a bargain-basement $12,490 plus on-road costs (plus $2000 for an automatic transmission), the base Alto GL comes standard with six airbags, ABS brakes, four seats and air-conditioning, while the premium Alto GLX adds electronic stability control, alloy wheels and a range of extra features.

Both models return average fuel consumption of 4.8L/100km, increasing to 5.5L/100km for the automatic version, leading Suzuki to claim the Alto offers hybrid-like fuel economy for about a third the price - without compromising safety, style or driving dynamics.

HONDA must seem crazy pitching a mainstream five-door hatchback against long-established chi-chi small-car luminaries such as the BMW 1 Series, Audi A3 and up-spec VW Golf.

And the Civic Si hatch – for all its striking design and packaging solutions – does seem expensive against the premium Europeans.

But Honda has always engineered its evergreen Civic to a standard that has always felt a cut above the everyday runabout, and the English-built Si – from $38,990 – does have plenty of standard features included.

2010 Vauxhall Insignia VXR

Posted by Groove Saturday, August 29, 2009 0 comments

Vauxhall's Insignia range will get a powerful flagship model when the VXR version goes on sale this autumn.

With a 2.8-litre V6 engine generating a thumping 321bhp, along with four-wheel drive and a muscular makeover, the VXR is a match for premium rivals such as the Audi S4. There's plenty of power, too, thanks to a 321bhp 2.8-litre turbocharged V6 petrol engine. The VXR delivers 64bhp more than the standard Insignia V6: Vauxhall claims a 0-60mph time of 5.8 seconds with a top speed limited to 155mph.

Aerodynamic components for the front, side, rear, and roof, including the Aero hood lend the AS55K YAAS EDITION new striking contours. The comprehensive package of high-quality carbonized surfaces makes for individual highlights on the outer skin. The hood, aerodynamics components, the door handles, the spare wheel cover, the exterior mirror shells and the engine block have been generously coated in this luxurious material by hand to sparkle with that typical magical three-dimensional effect. This exterior variant with carbon parts was developed and manufactured on the wishes and in accordance with the decided suggestions of the Royal Family of Abu Dhabi. Numerous highly-polished stainless steel decorative elements draw attention to the air vents and other predestined points on the car body. The dual polished stainless steel bumper with its profiled appearance provides the finishing touches to the smart solid appearance of the vehicle rear below the rear skirt.

Light, enough to illuminate the skies, is provided by the xenon lighting system with bi-xenon dual headlamps as the basis, four xenon upper-beam headlamps and four fog lamps as add-ons. The six chrome-plated tailpipes of the exhaust system, each sporting an A.R.T. logo, dissipate what remains of the vast power from the engine block laterally under the running boards: its grandiose sound cannot be ignored.

The high-performance brake system operates at the front with perforated 380 size brake disks and 8-piston brake calipers. At the rear, perforated 345 size brake disks and 4-piston brake calipers provide deceleration to match the power. The entire window surface of the AS55K YAAS EDITION is treated with chrome color window tinting, protecting the interior world of the vehicle from the stares of the outside world.

As soon as you open the doors of the AS55K YAAS EDITION, you cannot fail to notice the graceful interior surrounds to entice all the senses. The seats, instrument board, door cladding and center console have been intricately covered in aromatic materials by hand. A.R.T. upholsterers use the finest velour leather, perforated smooth nappa leather, and alcantara in cinnamon and anthracite hues. High-quality carpets with leather edging and A.R.T. embroidered logo round off the overall warm and luxurious ambience for that very special driving experience. Carbon features also lend magical highlights to the interior of the AS55K YAAS EDITION. All the covers on the instrument panel and doors have been given a high-quality carbon veneer. These features are crowned by the gold-color carbonized multi-function steering wheel.

The appearance will be completed by the successfull A.R.T. design wheel monoART1 in the Dimension 22 inches with surface high-polished.

2010 Porsche 911 GT3

New Edition of the Worlds Most Successful Racing Car

Stuttgart. Stronger, wider, faster the new version of the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup offers its many customers the world over even greater value than ever before. The successor to the best-selling racing car of all time built in a production series of more than 1,400 units is based for the first time on the 911 GT3 RS, with the weight of the racing model reduced significantly versus the lightweight road-going version.

This is the first GT3 Cup to feature the 44-millimetre (1.73) wider body at the rear, providing sufficient space for even larger wheels. Wider wheel arches also at the front clearly show that the front wheels are likewise new.

Engine capacity is up by 0.2 litres over the former model, engine output is 30 bhp more than before. The most important facts and figures: 3.8-litre six-cylinder horizontally-opposed power unit developing 450 bhp (331 kW), sequential six-speed manual gearbox, weight 1,200 kg (2,646 lb), racing version of the 911 GT3 RS.

The new GT3 Cup is clearly recognisable at very first sight through the special looks and design of the front end. The striking daytime driving lights come straight from the current generation of the 911, the front body panels are the same as on the 911 GT3 RS. The front spoiler lip is however 15 millimetres or almost 0.6 lower to provide significantly more downforce on the front axle. Downforce on the rear axle is also increased by the rear wing extended in width from 1.46 to 1.70 metres (57.5 to 66.9) and fitted higher up as a feature carried over from the even faster 911 GT3 Cup S in international FIA GT3 racing. The rear air dam with its striking air vent openings as well as the rear lights in LED technology, in turn, come straight from the road model.

The power unit featured in the new 911 GT3 Cup is largely identical to the production engine in the 911 GT3 RS same output of 450 bhp and same maximum engine speed of 8,500 rpm. Capacity of the Cup engine, however, is up from 3.6 litres on the former model to 3.8 litres on the new car, helping to increase engine power by 30 bhp.

A racing exhaust system with a fully controlled catalytic converter helps to reduce harmful emissions to a minimum. As an exclusive feature in the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup held on the occasion of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship races, the new 911 GT3 Cup comes with a modified, special exhaust system offering an even more dynamic and muscular sound. Another feature exclusive to the Supercup version is PCCB Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes also available on Porsches road models. Compared with the composite cast brake discs featured on the Carrera Cup cars, this reduces the weight of the car by approximately 20 kg or 44 lb.

The wheel arches wider at the front and the flared wheel arches at the rear provide ample space for even wider wheels. Hence, the front axle comes with three-piece light-alloy rims measuring 9.5 J x 18 (previously 9 J x 18) and running on 24/64-18 Michelin racing tyres. The three-piece light-alloy rims on the rear axle are up by one inch in width, now measuring 12 J x 18 and running on 27/68-18 tyres.

Additional Unibal joints are featured on the track control arms and the sword-shaped anti-roll bars front and rear are now adjustable to seven different positions on both sides, allowing an even more precise set-up of the car in accordance with the respective race track.

The cockpit of the new 911 GT3 Cup caters even more than before for the specific needs of the driver. An additional vent in the upper part of the front lid, for example, provides the driver with an even better supply of fresh air. The controls for the Info Display are now positioned directly on the steering wheel housing a total of six switches. And in addition to fore-and-aft adjustment, the steering wheel may now also be adjusted for height as on the regular production car.

The new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup available exclusively in Carrara White will be delivered to customers as of the end of October. In the upcoming season it will be raced in no less than seven cup trophies not only in the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup on the occasion of Formula 1 races, but also in the Porsche Carrera Cups in Germany, Asia, Japan, and Italy, as well as the GT3 Cup Challenges in the USA and the Middle East.

The Euro base-price is Euro 149,850.- without value-added tax.

2010 Ford F-150 Raptor Review

ford raptor performance
Amazing? No, this is utterly ridiculous. It's 106 degrees, and we're streaking across the rock- and sand-strewn frying pan that is Borrego Springs, California, in August. It's absolutely miserable out here, so hot and dry the scorpions have taken refuge under the sidewinders. Word is, Blackwater mercenaries train in this unforgiving desert because it makes Kandahar look like Club Med.

You'd never know it from inside our truck. The A/C is blowing ice cold, and Gene keeps his right foot flat as we literally glide over whoop after whoop (an off-road-racing term for the thousands of beige speed bumps scattered before us). Whoops vary in size and composition, from small ones made of storm-piled sand to taller berms packed down by dirtbike and buggy tires, but all can seriously cripple a vehicle if taken at speed.

We're doing 100 mph. At half this rate, any regular truck would explosively dismantle as fast, hard, and repeated hits induce massive and comprehensive suspension or tire failure. Our truck simply strides over them, with some turbulence for us in the cabin, but without any gut wrenching, bolt stripping, metal-on-metal indications of imminent disaster.

Well, except for Gene. He keeps hollering and looking over to gauge my reaction. Because of my helmet, he can't see the big, goofy grin on my face, nor does he realize I'm not ignoring him. I'm quietly scanning the horizon for the next big hit. Apparently, he takes my stoicism as evidence that I'm not having fun, and since we're already at Vmax, he decides to show me what a little full-throttle opposite lock can do.

It's when we launch off a huge whoop while yawed at 45 degrees, that I realize I should let Gene know how much I'm enjoying myself. While I'd like to die with a smile on my face, I'd rather it not be in this godforsaken place. I let off a whoop of my own, and his response is an immediate and gleeful, "I know, right? You just can't do that in any other truck!"
