2012 Next Dodge Viper: a V10 camshaft core is stronger than ever
The Viper has virtually revolutionized the world of small sports car in the U.S. when the first version was marketed in the early 90s. Since then, the worst of Dodge was still remained in the catalog until the year 2010 when the second draft will draw his bow without being immediately replaced. But dry your tears, the Viper will be revived soon.
The current version is no longer for sale and it will now wait until 2012 before finally discover his successor. A successor who, according to our American colleagues of Road & Track, will not know of the technical revolution: its big V10 atmospheric indeed retain its mammoth capacity (8.4 liters) and its structure in central camshaft and two valves per cylinder. However, it will likely receive direct injection to ensure a level of consumption mastered in these times more stringent than ever.
Listed Power, Road & Track listing an impressive 700 horsepower which would make it almost a supercar. Note that it should also include the provision of the transaxle AMG Mercedes SLS, almost a cousin, since the frame of the German was originally intended for the replacement for the Viper.
Good news then: the Viper has not finished talking to the powder.
