Tata announced the world's cheapest car, the Nano (with list price at $ 2,500, something around R $ 4,200-tax real) will an update with regard to safety after the sequence of models that took fire. The term recall, however, was not used.
Tata said it was verifying the accident. "The research done by professionals specialized domestic and international, concluded that the causes of the accidents in some Tata Nano are unique to each case," the manufacturer.
The Nano is designed to reach the Indian middle class, but sales of the cheapest car in the world are falling. It sold 3,065 units of the compact in October, but the company's expectation for 5520 was sold for the month in question.
The Indian business newspaper The Economic Times said on Wednesday that at least seven car accidents have been reported so far.
