Goodyear and NASA awards for invention of Tire
In early November, NASA and Goodyear received the 'R & D 100 Award' (Oscar Innovation) for their 'wheel of space', which can equip the large vehicles used on planets like the Moon or Mars. The new tire, called 'Spring Tire' (literally tire springs) was designed to make vehicles much heavier and greater distance than the tire wire mesh previously used on the Apollo Lunar Roving Vehicle. This tire is made of 800 spring-mounted on the test vehicle and tested at NASA Space Center in Houston, where he made a perfect pass-examination could even have applications on Earth
