This morning, chevrolet vent to official details, pictures and some videos of the Camaro Convertible 2011, just ahead of the car's official debut at the Auto Show in Los Angeles. The droptop pony car has not been a secret for some time, but this is our first real look at a standard production model.
Maybe it's because the concept version debuted nearly four years in Detroit, or because we have seen dozens of spy shots, but for some reason, the Camaro convertible does not look like a new car. The front is essentially unchanged from the coupe, so if you like the hard top then most likely enjoy the looks of the convertible, too. Even so, the people of General Motors are thrilled to have a second model to help improve their sales ahead of the Mustang, and we are sure you will soon be appearing all over the hottest spot in the states and rental fleets cars across the country.
The day was typically warm southern California without a cloud in the sky, and we would have liked to get the Camaro Convertible for a spin. Unfortunately, they can not get behind the wheel yet, but I have a lot of photos that can be found in high-res gallery below. You can also hit the jump for the official press release from GM in case you missed this morning.
