Porsche 918 Spyder

Just before Christmas Porsche has seen fit to offer a few new shots of its future hybrid supercar. For the first official photographs show the animal in the open air. Is this a sign that his arrival will not be long? Hopefully! Production has been confirmed by Porsche, it remains only to know the release date! Some informed sources speak of early 2012, implying a presentation next year. Let us add to this that Porsche has promised a surprise at the Detroit Show in January and it does not take longer for us to boil with impatience! Meanwhile we still have to discover these pictures here.Hybrid
For its first hybrid supercar, Porsche has totally abandoned the fantastic 5.7-liter V10 air of the Carrera GT in favor of a V8 500HP which is coupled to two electric motors, one on each axle to act as system recovery Energy KERS in F1. They accumulate the equivalent of what would temporarily 217ch the total power of the 918 Spyder 717ch. Impressive. Beware however that power may be revised upwards, remember that the first prototype of the Carrera GT did not have "only" 550ch while the version produced in offering 612.Concept
Thanks to its carbon structure the concept presented in Geneva did not weigh more than 1490kg. A feat that is to be repeated on the standard version. Performance-wise 0-100km / h was reported in 3.2 seconds and top speed estimated at 320km / h. According to Porsche Nürburgring lap would be completed in 7mn30. A time to troll a bit compared to the GT2 RS that it takes 6 seconds less. But we expect that the production version will be more powerful than the concept!
