The new Focus is hardly the dealer, because Ford is already testing the final version through its paces. While it takes a bit to the premiere of the RS, but the Focus ST is already in the wings.
Currently a fleet of 60 ST-prototypes on German motorways, the Nurburgring and U.S. freeways is beaten. Specifically, the chassis gets here the final touch. That makes sense, because the entire Focus range is designed as a world car. Visually, the ST is a lowered suspension, a rear spoiler, large alloy wheels and a dual-pipe exhaust system from his civilian brethren from.
Under the hood of the Focus ST, it is something entirely new: In contrast to the 2.5-liter five-cylinder predecessor, the ST is coming to a two-liter four-cylinder with direct fuel injection and turbocharging. The capacity is 250 instead of 225 hp. The downsizing is expected to reduce the consumption of the new unit and improve the performance weight. The launch of the Power Focus is scheduled for 2012.
